About Us
WHAT WE BELIEVE:
As a Church of England Christian community we embrace the mainline teaching and practice of the Anglican Church. We believe in God as revealed in Scripture as being the Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe the Bible to be God's inspired Word, and in our teaching seek to understand and apply its teachings to everyday modern life. We believe we can know God personally, through faith in Jesus Christ, and that the Holy Spirit is given to all believers, to enable us to enjoy our relationship with God, to strengthen and enable our lives as Christians in community and individually.
We warmly welcome everyone who would like to explore faith, whether they currently have a faith or not. We welcome those who would like to become a member of the Christian community in the Parish. We welcome Christians from different traditions within the Anglican Church and those of different Christian denominations.
TEACHING:
We teach from the Bible in all our main services, seeking to understand the original context and its application and relevance to our world and lives today in the 21st Century. We usually work to a sermon series, but also from the Church of England lectionary from time to time.
OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE:
We welcome all our members to explore their spiritual gifts and abilities and to contribute to the life and wellbeing of the church community. We believe that every person has a vital contribution to make, and that the Holy Spirit gives every Christian a gift (or more) with which to serve both the church community and the wider community of which we are a part.
