We are excited to announce our church weekend for 2024. The dates are 31st May - 2nd June. This is the last weekend of the half term, so we hope it will work for families with school-aged children. For those who have to work still, we hope this will give you enough notice to request time off if you want to come. The weekend programme will start at lunch on Friday 31st till Sunday afternoon.

The weekend will again be held at The Poplars – a family-run centre specifically for Christian retreats and conferences. We will have exclusive use of the centre during our time there. On site accommodation consists largely of dormitory-style rooms with a few smaller ones for couples. Families are usually given a room to themselves. If you are single, you may be put in a single-sex room. There is also the option to camp, bring your own caravan or stay off-site in a local B&B and join us as a day visitor. The centre is self-catering, so we will be organising a catering team and providing our own food.

There are a number of meeting rooms and lounges that we can use, a kitchen and dining area and a BBQ. Other facilities on site include various sports grounds and games rooms, a camp fire and lots of space!

The weekend will consist of teaching sessions, times of prayer and worship, time to socialise and have fun, meals together and lots more. A children’s and youth programme will be part of the weekend.

Day visitors
For some, staying away overnight is not ideal so it is possible to come for a day – we recommend the Saturday as this is a full day of activity.

The costs for the weekend are below. We realise this is an increase from last year, but as you can appreciate, costs do rise.

On site Fri-Sun
Adult - £120
Child (2-18yrs) - £90
Under 2 yrs – FREE

Day visitors
Adult and child - £30 per day
Under 2 yrs – FREE

If you are on site, the accommodation costs are the same whether you are camping or staying in a room, though we can offer a 10% discount for a whole family group who stays in their own tent or caravan. The camping facilities are simply a space to put a tent and shared toilets and showers in the main building. The costs include use of all facilities and meals. If you are off-site the cost includes use of the facilities during the day and all meals. If for any reason you want to join us onsite for just one night, please give details in the extra information box on the form and we can let you know costs.

BOOKING - please CLICK HERE to complete an online booking form. This is easiest done on a computer rather than a phone as the screen may not be big enough to show the options correctly.

We want the weekend to be as accessible as possible to all members of the congregation. If you have queries about finances, access or accommodation please get in contact with Tamsin to discuss further. There may well be a way to help you, but we cannot help if we do not know! Your information will be treated confidentially. If you wish to pay by instalments, then please let us know how you intend to pay in the information box.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in contact with Tamsin in the church office.
