Safeguarding at All Saints'

We take seriously our responsibility to safeguard both children and vulnerable adults. This is not just about doing DBS checks, but about creating a safe and supportive environment for all.

We encourage all our church members to think about doing the basic level safeguarding training offered by the Church of England (online here), but there are a number of roles for which more detailed safeguarding training is essential.

All volunteers in church, particularly those working with vulnerable groups will need to undergo a simple recruitment process that includes references, checks and training. See the tab to the right.

Below are our safeguarding policy and other useful documents - we encourage all church members to familiarise themselves with these documents.

If you have any safeguarding concerns please contact Ruth Atkins, our Parish Safeguarding officer on 07857557431 or email

Ruth is assisted in her role by Carolyn Whiting, our Safeguarding administrator who should be contacted about recruitment, training or DBS checks (using the email above).

Our diocesan safeguarding officer is Erica Hegg who can be contacted on 07341866832. More information about referrals to the diocese are available on
